A hotel right on the slopes, high in the Ötztal Alps. My wife and I are looking forward to discovering TOP Hotel Hochgurgl as part of an upcoming winter collaboration.

This is a preview of our upcoming hosted visit. I haven’t stayed here yet; my own photographs, films and first-hand impressions will follow.

THE MOUNTAIN CONNECTION
Wake up.
Step onto snow.
The hotel’s position is a big part of the appeal: direct slope access in Hochgurgl, with the wider Obergurgl–Hochgurgl ski area to explore. For me, that means more of the day spent on snow and less time organising the journey to it.
I’m looking forward to showing how a ski day works from this base, from leaving the ski room to finding our way around the mountain.
TOP MOUNTAIN SPA
Warm water.
Cold mountain air.
There’s plenty to look forward to after skiing. The hotel lists an 18 × 12 metre indoor pool, a heated outdoor pool with mountain views, a whirlpool, four saunas, a steam bath, treatment rooms and a fitness room.
The outdoor pool beside the slopes is one of the images that caught my attention. I’ll share my own view of the spa experience when we visit.

Chef Frederic Kempf leads the kitchen, with seasonal produce, Austrian influences and international cooking. Traditional dining rooms, the sun terrace and à la carte options bring different ways to enjoy the hotel.
