Hintertux

The hard work behind the progress

Level 2, a tough moguls camp and the less polished side of learning to ski.

April 2025: Level 2

Six days with Scott Hammond led to my IASI Level 2 assessment. I found it tough, and passing was emotional. That experience is part of why Hintertux deserves more than a quick glacier photograph in the archive.

May 2025: the reality of a moguls camp

I returned for Geri Tumbasz’s moguls camp and found I was not ready for what it asked of me. It was exhausting. The point of including that story is to show the learning honestly, not to present every ski trip as effortless progress.

Two perspectives in the podcast

Episode 13 covers the Level 2 period and Episode 14 discusses the moguls experience. Episode 23 brings Jade’s camp retrospective into the conversation. Those are separate experiences; the gallery does not claim that my footage is footage of her later camp.

Plan for the actual conditions

Glacier skiing still depends on weather, lift operations and available terrain. Check the official status, and choose coaching or a camp that suits your current ability and fitness.
