Why it made my Top Ten
Verbier and the Four Valleys sit at number four in my film. My story is not only about staying in Verbier itself: Les Collons became a base for exploring across the area, and routes that once frightened me became part of the attraction as my skiing improved.
Watch the full review
The film looks at terrain, bases, mountain views, food and the experience away from the lifts. It also explains why choosing where you stay matters in a large network. Verbier town and a Les Collons base give you different starts and finishes to the day.
The yellow routes deserve respect
Marked itineraries are not the same as groomed pistes. My excitement about skiing them reflects personal progression, not advice that everyone should attempt them. Check the official route status and get qualified local guidance appropriate to the terrain and conditions.
The wider area
The operator advertises 410 kilometres of pistes and freeride itineraries across the Four Valleys. That headline includes different kinds of terrain. Use the official map, opening information and return-lift times when deciding how far to explore.
Where the podcast fits
Episode 31 follows the Les Collons and Four Valleys experience and the later Zermatt challenge and St. Moritz trip. The separate Four Valleys guide links Thyon, Nendaz and Veysonnaz so the whole story is easier to follow.
